Slaughter and May advised SEGRO on its entry into a joint venture with Pure DC to develop a fully-fitted data centre in Paris

Slaughter and May advised SEGRO plc (“SEGRO”) on its entry into a joint venture with Pure Data Centre Group Limited (“Pure DC”) to develop a fully-fitted data centre in Paris. The joint venture is the second data centre project between SEGRO and Pure DC, following the joint venture to develop a fully-fitted data centre in Premier Park, West London (on which Slaughter and May also advised SEGRO – see work briefing here).

SEGRO has contributed both land and secured power to the new joint venture. The data centre will be in a key Paris availability zone and is expected to require capital of approximately £0.8bn (including the contribution value of SEGRO’s powered land). It will be SEGRO’s first data centre development in Continental Europe and its second fully-fitted data centre project (building on SEGRO’s experience of delivering powered shells to major data centre operators for over 20 years).

Pure DC is a global data centre operator with over a decade of experience in the design, build and operation of world-class data centres for the most sophisticated hyperscale users.

Slaughter and May advised SEGRO as lead counsel on the transaction, working closely with SEGRO’s in-house team headed by Stephanie Murton (Head of Legal and Company Secretary) and Gide Loyrette Nouel advising as to French law.
