Slaughter and May advised Daily Mail and General Trust plc (“DMGT”) on the acquisition by dmg media, its consumer media business, of the ‘i’, the UK national newspaper and website, from JPIMedia Limited for an enterprise value of £49.6m.
The acquisition occurred by way of the sale and purchase of the entire issued share capital of JPIMedia Publications Limited by DMG Media Limited and completed on 29 November 2019. Slaughter and May is separately advising on the anticipated review of the acquisition by the UK Competition and Markets Authority.
