Simon has a broad corporate practice advising corporate and private equity clients on domestic and international transactions, with a particular focus on acquisitions and disposals, public takeovers and mergers, joint ventures and equity capital markets.

Highlights include advising:

  • Allianz on combining its African operations with Sanlam in a R33bn joint venture to create the largest pan-African insurance group on the continent
  • Fortress Investment Group on its £7bn takeover offer for Morrisons
  • Bordeaux UK Holdings (an affiliate of Optum Health UK and  subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group) on its £1.2bn recommended offer for EMIS Group
  • Authentic Brands Group on its recommended offer for Ted Baker
  • HPS Investment Partners on its majority investment in Nucleus
  • FNZ on the sale of GBST to Anchorage Capital Partners
  • Vodafone on the commercialisation of Cornerstone, the passive tower infrastructure company owned in joint venture with Telefonica
  •  Vodafone on its UK network-sharing arrangements with Virgin Media O2

  • HitecVision on its acquisition of a portfolio of North Sea oil and gas assets from Total and the creation of NEO Energy

In 2018, Simon spent six months on secondment to Rothschild & Co.
