Richard Goldstein joined Slaughter and May in January 2020, and advises both employers and trustees alike on a diverse range of pension law related issues. He has a wealth of experience on pension design and management having been a partner at another City law firm for a decade. He also has been involved in a number of high-profile corporate transactions with the involvement of the Pensions Regulator.

Richard has for many years acted for a number of trustee clients sponsored by FTSE100 and Fortune 100 companies, with assets sizes in excess of £3 billion. His recent work includes advising:
- Countrywide plc on the recommended cash acquisition of Countrywide’s entire issued and to be issued share capital by Connells Limited.
- A major UK insurer on a proposed business transfer of a business division.
- A major UK insurer on its funding negotiations.
