Mark advises in relation to all aspects of real estate including direct and indirect investment, joint ventures, financing, development and leasing. He has experience across a range of sectors including offices, logistics, data centres, healthcare, hospitality and retail.  Mark advises on real estate private capital investments and on the property aspects of M&A, financing and energy transactions.

Highlights include advising:

  • Derwent London on investments, developments and lettings including:
    • the acquisition and letting of The White Chapel Building
    • the re-gear of its interests, development and letting of its two major schemes at 25 Baker Street and 50 Baker Street, London
    • the redevelopment of Holden House, London
  • English National Ballet on its relocation to purpose-built premises at London City Island
  • Greater Manchester Pension Fund on its interests in the joint venture developing Mix Manchester
  • INEOS on a range of acquisitions and disposals including the disposal of its Composites business
  • John Lewis Partnership on a variety of funding, investment and development matters including:
    • sale and leasebacks of Waitrose stores
    • its £500 million residential development joint venture with abrdn
  • Legal & General on a range of investments and forward funding transactions including:
    • sale and leaseback portfolios for its annuity and long income funds
    • its long-term development partnership with Oxford University
    • the development of a Nike logistics campus and supply chain hub at Magna Park, Corby
  • Ministry of Defence on the successful defence and subsequent resolution of landmark litigation and the £5.9945 billion reacquisition of the Armed Forces housing estate
  • Song Capital on a range of property investments and financings including:
    • a £210 million long-term refinancing with Hamberley Care Homes
    • a €702.5 million loan to a joint venture between Medical Properties Trust and Praemia REIM secured against a portfolio of German rehabilitation hospitals
    • a £331 million ground debt transaction with Morrisons
    • a £631 million secured financing with Medical Properties Trust
  • Vodafone on the commercialisation of Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Limited and on its merger with Three.
