Slaughter and May succeeds for Virgin in the Commercial Court

Slaughter and May has successfully represented Virgin Aviation TM Limited and Virgin Enterprises Limited in a summary judgment application against Alaska Airlines Inc. in the Commercial Court in litigation concerning a trademark license agreement between the parties.

In a judgment dated 3 October 2025, Mr Justice Foxton granted summary judgment sought by Virgin on part of its claim for unpaid minimum royalties from Alaska. In doing so the court also denied permission for Alaska to make certain related amendments to its particulars of claim on the basis that those proposed amendments had no real prospect of success.
