Slaughter and May advised BlackRock’s Diversified Infrastructure group (“BlackRock”) on its investment of up to USD400 million in Positive Zero Limited (“Positive Zero”), a UAE-based decentralised decarbonisation infrastructure business formed from the merger of solar company SirajPower, energy efficiency services firm Taka Solutions and on-demand battery business HYPR Energy.

As part of the transaction, BlackRock has agreed to invest funds in Positive Zero to support the business’ rapid growth in the UAE and other GCC countries, with a view to providing a broad range of sustainable technologies and data-driven solutions aimed at reducing carbon footprint, consumption, waste and costs across diverse industries in the region.
