Simon is a Senior Counsel in our real estate team. His practice covers all aspects of direct and indirect real estate investment. He also advises on the property aspects of major corporate and financing transactions. 

Highlights include advising:

  • Blackstone on various matters, including:
    • the formation of the Indurent logistics platform through the combination of the Industrials REIT and St. Modwen Logistics businesses
    • the disposal of St Modwen Homes to Miller Homes
  • Legal & General on a variety of real estate and corporate real estate matters, including:
    • the sale of CALA Group to funds managed by Sixth Street Partners and Patron Capital for an enterprise value of £1.35 billion
    • the acquisition, forward-funding and regeneration of Central Square, Cardiff
  • SEGRO on a number of matters, including:
    • the joint venture with Pure Data Centres Group for the development of a fully-fitted data centre in Park Royal, West London
    • the acquisition by SEGRO European Logistics Partnership of an European logistics portfolio from Tritax EuroBox for €470 million
    • its long-term contractual arrangements in relation to the private wire electricity network at Slough Trading Estate
  • Reckitt Benckiser on the separation and sale of its Essential Home business to Advent at an enterprise value of up to US$4.8 billion
  • KKR on the acquisition of Viridor Limited by one of its infrastructure funds for an enterprise value of £4.2 billion
  • Derwent London on various matters relating to its central London portfolio, including:
    • the development at Soho Place, London W1 directly above Tottenham Court Road station and subsequent lettings to Apollo and G-Research
    • the acquisition of two West End properties from Lazari Investments and establishment of a new joint venture
  • Linklaters, Clifford Chance, Knight Frank, Kirkland & Ellis, Dentons, Travers Smith, Viasat, Reed Smith, Simmons & Simmons and a number of other major occupiers on the pre-letting and letting of their new London headquarters
  • Everton Football Club on the acquisition and development of its new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock, Liverpool
  • Ocado in connection with the acquisition, development and operation of its Customer Fulfilment Centres in Bicester, Bristol and Purfleet
  • Bourne Leisure on its acquisition by funds managed by Blackstone Capital Partners and Blackstone Real Estate Partners 
  • The Clothworkers' Company on all matters relating to its property portfolio, including the development of the 36-storey commercial tower at 50 Fenchurch Street, London EC3
  • IWG on its international franchise arrangements for its Regus, SPACES and Open Office co-working and workspace brands
  • Crisis UK on all matters relating to its property portfolio
