Slaughter and May publishes 2025 sustainability report

Slaughter and May has today published its sixth annual sustainability report. The report shows the firm’s progress towards its sustainability goals and the approach it is taking to these across its business, including client services, operations, supply chain and the firm’s role as an employer.

This year’s highlights include:

  • Exceeding diversity targets – doubling the representation of partners from ethnic minority backgrounds in London and Brussels.
  • Collaborating on climate action – joining forces with Save the Children and eight other firms on a community-led, nature-based carbon removal project.
  • Supporting access to justice – reaching more than 770 people through community legal advice initiatives and funding.
  • Investing in the next generation – welcoming the first cohort of solicitor apprentices.
  • Minimising impact – 97% of construction waste from the firm’s London office refurbishment has been recycled or responsibly managed.

David Johnson, Managing Partner, commented: “Our success as a firm is built on long-term investment, cultivating relationships that last and being adaptable to change around us…In this report, you will find examples of how we harness our expertise, skills and networks to find solutions to address challenges faced by the business community and society at large. To help us do this, we work with a range of collaborators including our clients, peers, governments, non-profit organisations, businesses, communities and experts. The aim of this report is to be clear and transparent about our work and demonstrate the progress that we have made and areas where we still have work to do.”
