Slaughter and May advised Agricultural Bank of China Limited London Branch on its issuance of US$300,000,000 Floating Rate Green Notes due 2026. The Green Notes are distributed by a syndicate of 22 managers, 11 of which are joint global coordinators.

The Green Notes were issued under Agricultural Bank of China Limited’s US$15,000,000,000 Medium Term Note Programme. The Green Notes are dually listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the International Securities Market of the London Stock Exchange. The issuance marks Agricultural Bank of China Limited London Branch’s inaugural issuance of green notes.

The net proceeds from the issuance will be used exclusively to finance and/or refinance, in full or in part, the Eligible Green Projects as outlined in Agricultural Bank of China Limited London Branch’s Green Financing Framework. Such Eligible Green Projects relate to renewable energy, clean transportation, pollution prevention and control, environmentally sustainable management of living natural resources and land use, sustainable water and wastewater management, green buildings, energy efficiency and circular economy adapted products.
