Funding educational experiences for primary school children
We provide long-term funding to support educational and cultural extracurricular activities for children in our local community.
Working with our partner primary schools in the London borough of Islington – St Luke’s and Moreland – the funding aims to provide opportunities that enhance learning and personal development through residential overnight trips, theatre visits and other extracurricular activities.
Each year the firm’s funding enables St Luke’s Primary School to offer residential, gallery and theatre trips to over 450 children. Additionally, the funding helps the school to replenish reading books and run gardening clubs allowing inner-city children to engage with nature.
Similarly, Moreland Primary School uses the funding to provide more subsidised places on residential, museum and cultural trips opening the opportunities up to children that might otherwise not get the chance to take part.
Slaughter and May’s support plays a vital part in our mission to widen children's experience and narrow the opportunities gap between them and children from more economically advantaged backgrounds. These experiences support children's mental and physical wellbeing, widen their horizons, support their academic development and raise aspiration helping our mission to help children reach higher than they dreamed.Catherine Lawerence, Head Teacher, Moreland Primary School
