Slaughter and May advised Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. on the acquisition of TT International

Slaughter and May, working in conjunction with Anderson Mōri & Tomotsune, advised Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. (“SMFG”) on the acquisition of the entire business of the UK-based asset management firm, TT International (“TT”). TT manages total assets of approximately US$8.4 billion for clients principally based in Europe, North America and Asia. The transaction, which completed on 28 February 2020, is the first ever acquisition by SMFG of an overseas asset management firm.
