Murray joined the firm in 2008 and is now a partner in one of our Corporate and Commercial groups.
What does being a member of PRISM mean to you?
The firm places a huge emphasis on diversity and inclusion and that’s clear from the support given to PRISM and the other internal networks. This support and LGBT partner role models made clear to me that being a gay man would in no way affect my career progression and, ultimately, my promotion to the partnership.
Being a member of PRISM also allows me to help build awareness of LGBT issues throughout the firm and the wider world. In June 2017, we created a timeline of “LGBT firsts”, which was displayed in our Staff Restaurant, profiling LGBT role models and “firsts” throughout history. For us, this was a way of marking the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality as well as building awareness within the firm of the PRISM Network and its work.
