John has considerable experience in a wide range of commercial real estate work. He has acted extensively on acquisitions and disposals of all types of property interests, on significant development projects and on major lettings.

Highlights include advising:

  • NTT Urban Development Corporation on the purchase of 1 King William Street for £67.5m from LPA receivers. 1 King William Street is the London headquarters of Rothschild
  • Pembroke Real Estate on the acquisition of 41 Lothbury, London EC2 from Propinvest for an undisclosed consideration and the associated refinancing. The grade ΙΙ* listed building is comprised of office premises and a ground floor restaurant and is occupied by seven tenants
  • 5 Churchill Place L.P. on its purchase and associated £135m financing of a long leasehold interest in 5 Churchill Place, a recently completed development in Canary Wharf, London E14 for an aggregate consideration of £208 million. The building is predominantly let to JP Morgan
  • Qatar National Bank on its £1.15 billion financing of two landmark developments, known as The Shard of Glass and London Bridge Place
  • Lend Lease, in its role as development manager for the Olympic Delivery Authority, on the sale of 1,379 affordable homes to Triathlon Homes LLP (a joint venture between First Base, East Thames Group and Southern Housing Group) for £268m
