Ian has a broad financing practice which includes restructuring and insolvency-related work.

Highlights include advising:

• Castle HoldCo 4, Ltd, the parent company of Countrywide plc, on the schemes of arrangement and debt restructuring for the leading UK residential estate agency
• General Motors UK Limited and other UK companies in the General Motors group on matters connected with the Chapter 11 filing by General Motors Corporation and the restructuring of General Motors Europe
• Morgan Stanley on the restructuring of Four Seasons Health Care
• Tata Steel on the refinancing of the long-term debt of its European operations
• INEOS Group Limited on the refinancing of its senior term loan debt at par through the issue of senior secured notes and term loans

Ian was seconded to Gernandt & Danielsson, Stockholm for six months in 2003-2004 and also completed a six month secondment to the corporate lending legal team at RBS in 2006.
