Dermot has a broad based real estate practice encompassing all aspects of commercial real estate work, including:

• development, investment and major landlord and tenant work
• any type of financing transaction involving property, particularly securitisation and structured finance, but also including the more traditional forms of property finance
• more general commercial transactions, eg the sale and purchase of both private and public companies

Dermot is also a member of our Environmental law unit and has acted for the Waste Minimisation Sub-Group of the Second Advisory Committee on Business in the Environment established between the CBI and the Government. He has advised on the environmental law aspects of the acquisition, sale and flotation of a broad variety of environmentally sensitive businesses, as well as giving advice in relation to environmental compliance and liability issues generally.

Highlights include advising:

• Grosvenor Liverpool Fund in the refinancing of The Liverpool One Shopping Centre
• The MCC on its proposals to redevelop Lord’s
• ITV plc on a series of sale, and sale and leaseback transactions

He has also advised regular clients such as Derwent London plc, Grosvenor Group, Manchester City Corporation, and Westbrook on a wide variety of projects.
