Slaughter and May’s LGBT group was established in 2009 and acts as a platform for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) members of staff to network and socialise.

The group also promotes dialogue with senior management and human resources to reinforce the firm's commitment to the equal and fair treatment of all of its LGBT staff.

Individuals with all levels of seniority are represented in the group, from partners to trainees, and all are welcome to get involved, whether employed in a legal or non-legal capacity. The group holds regular events which are advertised through our intranet, usually involving dinner and drinks at various locations in the City.

The group is also involved with the InterLaw Diversity Forum, the intraorganisational network for the LGBT legal sector, and members of the group regularly attend its networking events. We were delighted to host InterLaw Diversity Forum monthly meetings at the firm in February 2010 and March 2011, and hope to do so again soon.  We also co-sponsored their first anniversary party in 2009 which raised funds for Stonewall, the leading LGB charity in the United Kingdom.

"From supporting our charity initiatives to hosting our monthly meetings on an annual basis, Slaughter & May's support of and participation in the InterLaw Diversity Forum by their LGBT Network and by the wider firm are greatly appreciated"

Daniel Winterfeldt, Founder and Co-Chair, InterLaw Diversity Forum for LGBT Networks
