Cable & Wireless Communications on the sale of the businesses within its Monaco & Islands division (the Maldives, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, the Seychelles, South Atlantic and Diego Garcia) and 25% of its shareholding in Compagnie Monegasque de Communication SAM to Bahrain Telecommunications Company for aggregate consideration of US$680 million.

Deutsche Bank AG in relation to the consolidation by an existing investor of their 75% majority stake in The Seventh Continent. Deutsche Bank acted as arranger and initial subscriber of US$560 million fixed rate notes secured against shares in The Seventh Continent and an associated real estate company. The structured acquisition financing involved the incorporation of special purpose vehicles in Cyprus and the British Virgin Islands.

Close Brothers Group plc on the sale of its Cayman Islands trust, fiduciary services, fund administration and banking business to Intertrust Group Holding SA. The transaction values the business at US$34 million (approximately £20.9 million), subject to adjustment.

Cable & Wireless Communications plc on its acquisition of a 51% interest in The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited from the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

United Energy Group Limited, incorporated in the Cayman Islands, in relation to its acquisition of a substantial interest in Transmeridian Exploration Incorporated, valued at approximately US$212 million.

Subsea 7 Inc., one of the world's leading subsea engineering and construction companies, on its combination with Acergy to create a global company with a market value of US$5.4 billion. The combination was effected through a scheme of arrangement in the Cayman Islands where Subsea 7 is incorporated.
