Alexander advises clients on a broad range of EU and UK competition law matters, in particular merger control, foreign investment, antitrust and other behavioural matters, subsidy control and competition litigation.

Experience includes advising:

  • Vodafone on a number of transactions in Europe, including its acquisition of Liberty Global operations in Germany and eastern Europe (and related appeals), its creation of a fibre joint venture in Germany with Altice, and the disposals of its Spanish and Hungarian businesses
  • Japan Industrial Partners on its acquisition of Toshiba
  • Booking on its proposed acquisition of Etraveli Group
  • S&P Global on its acquisition of IHS Markit
  • Elanco on its acquisition of Bayer’s Animal Health business
  • Marsh & McLennan Companies on its acquisition of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group
  • Ball on its acquisition of Rexam
  • INEOS on its joint venture with Solvay and subsequent buy-out

Alexander has been resident in our Brussels office since 2013. He is a member of the Brussels Bar (A list) and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales. Alexander has been named as a ‘Future Leader’ by Who’s Who Legal since 2018.
