Unilever - Sale of Sanex and purchase of laundry detergent brands

Slaughter and May advised Unilever on the sale of Sanex to Colgate-Palmolive and the purchase from Colgate-Palmolive of its laundry detergent brands in Colombia.

On the 23 March 2011 Unilever announced that it had entered a binding agreement to sell its global Sanex business to Colgate-Palmolive for EUR 672 million. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

Unilever also announced that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Colgate-Palmolive's laundry detergent brands (the Fab, Lavomatic and Val brands) in Colombia for US$215 million. This transaction is subject to regulatory approval and the completion of the Sanex disposal to Colgate-Palmolive.
