Nimax Theatres - Memorandum of Understanding with Derwent London

Slaughter and May advised Nimax Theatres Limited on its Memorandum of Understanding with Derwent London plc to lease and operate a new theatre on Tottenham Court Road, replacing the former Astoria Theatre. The 34,000 square feet auditorium will seat 350 and has been designed in collaboration with Nica Burns, chief executive of Nimax Theatres Limited. It is intended that the development will become the first purpose built, in-the-round theatre in London. The theatre will form part of a larger redevelopment by Crossrail and Derwent London plc of the eastern end of Oxford Street.

Nimax Theatres Limited is a leading London theatre operator which runs the Apollo, Duchess, Garrick, Lyric and Vaudeville theatres in the West End.
