Slaughter and May, Beijing and Hong Kong, working in an integrated team led by Hengeler Mueller, is advising CITIC Dicastal Wheel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the PRC-based manufacturer and supplier of automotive casting aluminium alloy wheels, on its acquisition of KSM Castings Group, the German supplier of high-specification aluminium and magnesium automotive parts, from Cognetas LLP.

The acquisition is subject to antitrust approvals in relevant jurisdictions and foreign investment approvals in China and Germany.

CITIC Dicastal Wheel Manufacturing is the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of casting aluminium alloy wheels for the automotive industry in terms of 2010 revenues. CITIC Dicastal Wheel Manufacturing is a 100 per cent. subsidiary of the CITIC Group, which is one of the largest state-owned conglomerates in China.

KSM Castings is a leading supplier of safety-critical and high-specification aluminium and magnesium parts to the international automotive industry, focusing primarily on chassis and powertrain applications components.
