Ashmore Group - Proposed acquisition of a majority interest in Emerging Markets Management, L.L.C.
Slaughter and May is advising Ashmore Group plc, a leading specialist emerging markets investment manager, on the UK aspects of a conditional agreement to acquire a 62.9 per cent stake in Emerging Markets Management, L.L.C ('EMM') for up to US $246 million.
The proposed acquisition was announced on 24 February 2011.
EMM is a US-based investment management firm with approximately US$10.4 billion of assets under management specialising in the management of emerging markets equities.
Ropes & Gray advised on US law.
