Slaughter and May advised Standard Chartered Bank on its cornerstone investment in the proposed initial public offering of the Agricultural Bank of China, one of the leading banks in the PRC.
Standard Chartered Bank has agreed to invest US$500 million in the H shares of Agricultural Bank of China, out of estimated proceeds of over US$20 billion from the initial public offering. The Agricultural Bank of China is due to be listed in Hong Kong and Shanghai in mid-July.
