Asda - Acquisition of Netto Foodstores

Slaughter and May, working as an integrated team with Pinsent Masons, is advising Asda on an agreement with Dansk Supermarked A/S to purchase its wholly owned subsidiary, Netto Foodstores Ltd.

The transaction, which was announced on 27 May 2010, is expected to complete later this summer following approval from the Office of Fair Trading.

Netto was established in the UK in 1990 and operated 193 stores at an average 8000sq ft.
