United Utilities - Issue of Fixed Rate Notes

Slaughter and May advised United Utilities Water on the issue on 25 March 2009 of £200,000,000 5.750 per cent. Fixed Rate Notes due 25 March 2022 under its (and United Utilities') EUR 7 billion Euro Medium Term Note Programme and related interest rate swaps.  

We also advised on the issue on 31 March 2009 of £75,000,000 5.750 per cent. Fixed Rate Notes which are also due 25 March 2022 and are to be consolidated and form a single series of £275,000,000 notes.

In addition, we advised United Utilities Water on the JPY 5,000,000,000 private placement issued on 31 March 2009 due 30 October 2017 under the EUR 7 billion Euro Medium Term Note Programme.
