Slaughter and May is advising Standard Life plc on an agreement with Barclays Bank PLC to sell Standard Life Bank plc, its UK mortgage and savings business, for £226 million.

Standard Life announced the proposed acquisition and agreement on 26 October 2009. The deal is expected to complete early next year.
