Global Infrastructure Partners - Recommended cash offer with loan note alternative for Biffa

Slaughter and May is advising Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) on a recommended cash offer with loan note alternative for Biffa plc, the integrated waste management business, by WasteAcquisitionco Limited, a newly incorporated company formed by funds advised by GIP, Montagu Private Equity and UCIL.

The offer, which was announced on 8 February 2008, is to be implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement and values Biffa plc at approximately £1.23 billion.
