GE Healthcare Life Sciences - Acquisition of Whatman

Slaughter and May is advising GE Healthcare Life Sciences Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric Company, on the recommended cash acquisition of Whatman plc for approximately £363 million. The acquisition which was announced on 4 February, 2008 will be implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement under section 425 of the Companies Act 1985.

Whatman is a global supplier of filtration technology and separation products.
