Slaughter and May is advising Senior plc on a cash placing to help fund the acquisition of Sterling Machine Co., Inc, a manufacturer of precision machined parts for the aerospace industry, based in Enfield, Connecticut, USA.

On 30 January 2006, Senior plc announced the placing of 15,000,000 new ordinary shares by Hoare Govett Limited with institutions at a price of 60 pence per share to raise approximately £9 million before expenses. Senior plc is the holding company of an international manufacturing group.
