Malawi Government - development PPP law and policy

27 Nov 2014

Slaughter and May are advising the Malawi Government (through its Public-Private Partnership Commission) in connection with the development of PPP law and policy in Malawi, part of a project involving the African Legal Support Facility.

Nigel Boardman and team will undertake a comprehensive review of the existing PPP and investment framework in order to produce, and to help implement, recommendations for the advancement of that framework. They will also provide PPP training programmes to government officials and local lawyers, as well giving ad hoc advice to the Malawi Government as it implements the new PPP regime. The firm will assist the Government in its aim to expand and improve infrastructure and public services, and thereby stimulate economic growth and reduce poverty. This is expected to be ongoing until November 2016.
