Employment, Pensions & Benefits Team of the Year - Legal Business Awards 2012
Slaughter and May won this award for its creation of a solution for Uniq to minimise the shortfall in its defined benefit pension scheme using an innovative deficit-for-equity swap. It involved creating a completely new structure and clearing it with the pension scheme trustees and Pensions Regulator, as well as ensuring that the Pension Protection Fund would not object.
