Online application system privacy policy

Data Protection

The information you provide by applying online, with the exception of the "Equal opportunity and diversity" section, will be used for the purposes of considering your application for a position with Slaughter and May and, in respect of partially completed applications, for assisting you with any queries you may have. All information will be put on to the database and processed by us and our online processing contractor Konetic Limited. We may, in the course of our recruitment process, undertake checks to verify some information provided by you, for example by confirming your qualifications and taking up references.

In order to consider your application fully, your data may be transferred to our overseas offices. Some of these offices are outside the EEA in countries which may not have a level of data protection legislation equivalent to that in the UK, but all comply with Slaughter and May’s procedures relating to the processing of personal data.

The information supplied to us in relation to you and your application may be retained by Slaughter and May for use in connection with future vacancies and/or further applications made by you for a position with us. We may also use it to contact you about recruitment events or other positions which we think will be of interest to you. In addition, the information collected may be used by us for equal opportunities monitoring as well as for more general statistical and research purposes.

You have certain rights under the Data Protection Act 1998 to access your data, subject to the payment of an administration fee.

Cookies

When you access the online application system a session cookie (small text file) will be placed on your computer. This cookie assits in the online process and will be deleted when you close your browser. Cookies can be disabled by changing the settings on your browser, but you may not be able to access the online application system if you do so.
