"The chance to witness first-hand the growing investment into and out of China has been exciting"
Having spent a week in Hong Kong during my university days and witnessed its buzz, vibrancy and diversity, I had always hoped that I would have the opportunity to work here. So far, it has surpassed all of my expectations.
I have been given a good level of responsibility in the Corporate department and I am enjoying the work and client contact. The chance to witness first-hand the growing investment into and out of China has been exciting and I am sure will prove to be an extremely useful experience in the future.
Aside from work, Hong Kong is an incredibly easy and rewarding city in which to live and its compact nature means that you can really make the most of your day; you can go from relaxing on the beach to a bar in the central districts within an hour. While the fast-paced life can be overwhelming, there are several hikes and trails within an easy travelling distance offering breathtaking views of mountains, forests and secluded bays, which allow you to escape completely from the madness of central Hong Kong. My fellow trainees and I have also taken the firm’s boat out on several trips to the surrounding islands to eat seafood, explore and just relax on the water - a great way to spend a sunny weekend.
Another real positive is that Hong Kong is particularly well located for exploring Asia. So far, I have visited Beijing, Singapore, Xi’an, Bangkok and Siem Reap, and I have plans to travel to Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur before I leave.
香港,我肯定很快會回來 (Hong Kong, I am sure I will be back soon).
