Leading Australian law firm

I came to Slaughter and May from a leading Australian firm where I was involved almost exclusively in IP Litigation work. As a result of Slaughter and May's multi-specialist approach, the nature of my work has become far more varied. It's both contentious and non-contentious and I'm responsible for drafting commercial and corporate documents that are stretching and educating me as an IP lawyer.
The variety of the work on offer here extends to pro bono legal work. One especially interesting piece of pro bono work I've been involved with was an application to intervene as a third party in a litigation matter, similar to the "amicus curiae" process in the US, but in the UK no established process for such an application exists. I also provided some pro bono trademark advice for the charity, 'Seeing Is Believing'.
There is another factor that distinguishes Slaughter and May: the unremitting focus on legal service and solutions of the very highest quality. Merely good advice is never enough; we are expected to go above and beyond what our clients expect. We think creatively about the law and give every document extra thought before submitting it. If there's any way we can add value, we do.
